Naval Surface Warfare Center Dam Neck Division was started on March 31, 1963 as Fleet Computer Programming Center, Atlantic. Under command of NAVSEA, its mission is the planning, developing, testing, and delivering of computer programs for shipboard combat direction systems. One of its tenants is Combat Direction Systems Activity (CDSA) and is located at NAS Oceana Dam Neck Annex.
